Presentations in Conferences
Pesticide Free Agriculture Conference, Dijon 2022
The coordinator Dimitrios Karpouzas attended the Conference Towards Pesticide Free Agriculture. What research to meet the pesticides reduction objectives embedded in the European Green Deal? which was organized in Dijon, France on 2-3 June 2022 and presented the project ARISTO
In the frame of the Conference Dr Karpouzas presented the project ARISTO in an EU projects workshop – “Pesticides and Agriculture: What are urgent research needs to move towards a pesticide free agriculture?.

18th ISME Conference, Laussane 2022
Several ARISTO members, fellows, and PIs, participated in the  18th International Symposium on Microbial Ecology (ISME) in Lausanne, Switzerland, 14-19 August. They attended many interesting talks and poster sessions on different topics,  learning new and inspiring facts and opening up new ways of thinking in science.  Also, they met and interacted with members of the scientific community from all over the world, exchanging ideas and knowledge. Τwo fellows, Eleftheria Bachtsevani (ECL) and Cara Meyer (INRAE) had the opportunity to present their first results  in the Soil Microbial Ecology poster session and discuss the ARISTO project and their work with other researchers.
ECOTOXICOMIC Conference 2022, Monpellier
Marta Perez, a fellow of ARISTO, along with Fabrice Martin-Laurent, Kathrin Fenner,
Michael-Thomas Marx and Dimitrios Karpouzas, all members of the ARISTO project network in front of her poster presenting her work on the effects of pesticides across the soil-food web in the ECOTOXICOMIC 2022 conference in Monpellier
The poster corner presentation of Marta Perez in the ECOTOXICOMIC 2022 conference in Monpellier
BAGECO Conference 2023, Copenhagen
Marta Perez is presenting her work on the effects of pesticides on the soil microbiota across trophic levels in the BAGECO Conference 2023 in Copenhagen. Marta was accompanied by another member of ARISTO, Dr Graeme Nicol from Ecole Central de Lyon

Cluster events with other ITN projects
ARISTO is linked with the ITN project PRORISK
On the 10th of March  the Coordinator of the MSCA-ITN-H2020 project PRORISK presented the project to the fellows of ARISTO in the frame of the 5th Training Event organized in Leipzig. The fellows had the chance to discuss with Dr Ludek Blaha the common groups that the two projects share on risk assessment and possible ways to interact further. Following on this, on the 17th of March the Coordinator of ARISTO presented the project to the felllows of PRORISK in the frame of their 5th Training Event organized in Girona. Dr Karpouzas had the chance to discuss with the fellows on the advances in the methods used for assessing the toxicity of pesticides on soil microorganisms and the potential use of these tools in PRORISK.

The two projects decided to keep on interacting and new activities. In this frame ARISTO will participate in the stakeholders workshop organized by PRORISK in December 2023, more infos will be available soon here and in the PRORISK website https://www.recetox.muni.cz/prorisk
ARISTO joins forces with the PRIMA EU project INTOMED
Dr Sotirios Vasileiadis, Assistant Professor in Molecular Microbial Ecology and Genomics, from the University of Thessaly delivered a 5-day practical course on ‘Primer on microbiome analysis‘. The participants dived deeper into ‘metabarcoding’ methodologies and microbial diversity analysis whilst using computational tools for handling the volume of sequencing data. For this workshop, the ARISTO project collaborated closely with the PRIMA project INTOMED (https://intomed.bio.uth.gr) and young scientists from both consortia participated and interacted on common research interests on soil microbiome analysis towards sustainable agriculture.
Fellows Seminars
Alexandre Pedrinho and Anna Manukyan fellows of the ARISTO project presented their PhD projects in the members of the laboratory of Plant and Environmental Biotechnology, Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, University of Thessaly in March 2022.
Crop Protection Associations Seminars

Presentation of ARISTO to HCPA, Athens
Dr Karpouzas presented the project ARISTO in the members of the Hellenic Crop Protection Association in Athens on Friday 12 May 2023. The presentation stimulated a lot of discussion about the regulatory impact that ARISTO is expected to have
