The
fourth training event of ARISTO was held in UCL, Louvain la Neuve, Belgium (4
to 8 July 2022) with the focus being on Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi. The
fellows followed taught courses on the ecology, functional role and market
position of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in agriculture. They also got training
in the cultivation of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and staining of roots to
measure colonization levels. The fellows visited the culture collection of
microorganisms and especially the unique collection of AMF maintained by the
group of Prof. Declerck in UC Louvain, Belgium. Finally the fellows followed a
soft skill course in Human Resources and Management and presented their work in
the supervisory board of ARISTO and discuss their progress.
